X Ads MCP connector

The X Ads connector lets AI agents report on and manage X (formerly Twitter) ad accounts through InsightfulPipe's hosted MCP server at https://x-ads.insightfulmcp.com/. It covers stats and async stats jobs, campaigns, line items, promoted posts and accounts, cards, media, scheduled posts, targeting and tracking tags.

Actions: 80 (53 read, 27 write). Workspace owners, admins and operators choose which actions each connected account exposes, and destructive actions are off by default.

Add it from a terminal, then click Authorize access in the browser window that opens:

What agents can do

Stats: synchronous stats and async stats jobs for campaigns, line items and promoted posts, including engagements, reposts, replies, likes, follows and website conversions.
Campaign structure: create, update and delete campaigns and line items, and read funding instruments.
Promoted content: promote posts and accounts, schedule promoted posts, create ad posts, and manage cards, media creatives and the media library.
Targeting: look up locations, interests, conversations, events, devices, platforms, languages and TV targeting, get targeting suggestions, and add or remove targeting criteria.
Measurement: manage tracking tags.

Before you connect

An X login with access to the ad account.

Connect X Ads

In the InsightfulPipe app, open Connectors, choose X Ads and click Connect.
Choose Read Only or Read + Write.
Sign in with X and authorize the app.
Select the ad accounts to connect.
Add the MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT or another client, then click Authorize access.

Permissions and safety

Management actions need Read + Write.
Eleven actions are destructive and off by default: deleting campaigns, line items, cards, media creatives, promoted accounts, promoted posts, scheduled posts, targeting criteria and tracking tags, and cancelling async jobs. Owners, admins and operators can enable them in Configure actions for this account.

Limits

Reservation products such as Takeovers aren't included.
X renamed Tweets to posts. Some action names still say tweet, such as create_promoted_tweet.

Troubleshooting

An ad account is missing: check that your X login has access to it, then reconnect.
Stats are still processing: async stats jobs take time. Ask the agent to check the job again.
"This account is connected read-only, so this action cannot be enabled for it." Reconnect with Read + Write.
