InsightfulPipe publishes this guide, and the steps use its hosted TikTok Ads connector. Other ways to connect, including TikTok's own connector in Claude's directory, are covered near the end.

TikTok Ads to Claude at a glance
Two routes put TikTok Ads inside Claude with a sign-in and no code: InsightfulPipe's hosted server and TikTok's own connector. They differ most on what you control before Claude acts.
InsightfulPipe | TikTok for Business connector | |

TikTok Ads actions | 124: 15 read, 89 write, 20 destructive | About 400 tools in full mode; the Claude listing shows 39 |
Control before Claude acts | Each action on or off per advertiser, set by an admin and enforced on the server | Not stated on its help page or Claude listing |
Destructive actions | Off until an admin switches them on | Not stated |
New campaigns and ad groups | Created disabled, for you to set live | Not stated |
Other platforms | 49 more in one workspace, including Google Ads, Meta Ads and GA4 | TikTok only |
AI clients | Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Codex CLI | Claude, and other MCP clients by URL |

The video may show an earlier version of the setup screens. Follow the steps in this article for the current labels.
What you are actually connecting
You are connecting Claude to InsightfulPipe's hosted server, which calls TikTok's API for Business with the access you approved. The whole path fits on one line:
Claude → InsightfulPipe MCP → your authorized TikTok advertiser account
Claude never receives your TikTok password. It sends a request over MCP, and InsightfulPipe makes the matching TikTok API call with the access you granted. Reports run through query_data, which only reads, and changes run through a separate execute_action tool.
Four things bound what Claude can reach: your InsightfulPipe workspace, the advertisers you connected, the actions switched on for each advertiser, and your own permissions in TikTok. You do not need your own TikTok developer app, Marketing API access, an app review, a server to host or an API version to track.
Before you start
You need four things before step 1, and TikTok's own roles still decide what the connection can see and change.
- TikTok for Business access to each advertiser, directly or through a Business Center.
- An InsightfulPipe workspace. Plans start from $29.99 a month for 8 connections, and each advertiser you connect is one of them. Start a trial.
- An Owner, Administrator or Operator role in the workspace. A member with the User role runs read actions on the advertisers granted to them, and an owner or admin can change that role at any time.
- A client that supports remote MCP servers. Claude offers custom connectors on its Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, and Free users can add one (Anthropic, checked 2026-09-30).
TikTok's roles still apply. An Analyst on an ad account can view ads and reports but cannot create or edit ads or manage audiences, while an Operator or Admin can (TikTok, checked 2026-09-30). InsightfulPipe cannot expand the authority of the TikTok account you connect.
Step 1: Connect TikTok Ads in InsightfulPipe
Step 1 happens in InsightfulPipe, where you choose the access level and see every action before you sign in to TikTok.
- Open Connected accounts and click Connect account.
- On Add an integration, find TikTok Ads and click Connect.
- Under Access level, choose Read-only or Read & write.
- Check the MCP / CLI actions panel. On a new connection the Destructive tab shows 0 of 20.
- Click Continue with TikTok Ads and sign in with TikTok for Business.
- Approve the access TikTok asks for.
- Under Advertisers, pick the advertisers, then click Connect 2 advertisers (or however many you picked).
Each advertiser becomes its own connection with its own action list. A Business Center login lists every advertiser it can reach, so pick only the ones this workspace should hold. Start with Read-only for reporting; an admin can reconnect with Read & write later.

Step 2: Add the connector URL in Claude
Step 2 adds the TikTok Ads server to Claude as a custom connector, which takes one URL and a click on Connect.
- Copy the server URL:
https://tiktok-ads.insightfulmcp.com/ - In Claude, open Customize > Connectors.
- Click +, then Add custom connector.
- Name it, paste the URL, click Continue, then Add.
- Click Connect on the new connector.
- Sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked. Claude then lists the connector as connected.

Once you're signed in, the connection finishes on its own, and Claude reaches only the advertisers your workspace has connected and granted to you. With no TikTok Ads advertiser available to you, Claude can't connect.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner first adds the connector under Organization settings > Connectors (Anthropic, checked 2026-09-30). InsightfulPipe's own listing in Claude's directory connects every platform in your workspace at once.

Step 3: Turn the connector on in a new chat
Claude switches connectors on per conversation, so step 3 is a toggle you repeat in each chat that needs TikTok Ads.
- Start a new chat.
- Click + at the lower left, hover over Connectors and switch the TikTok Ads connector on.
You also decide how each tool runs. Under Customize > Connectors, the connector's Tool permissions set each tool to Always allow, Needs approval or Blocked (Anthropic, checked 2026-09-30). Choose Always allow for query_data and Needs approval for execute_action, and Claude asks you before every change.
Step 4: Choose which actions Claude may run
In step 4 an owner, admin or operator decides, advertiser by advertiser, which of the 124 TikTok Ads actions Claude can run.
- In InsightfulPipe, open Connected accounts and find the TikTok advertiser.
- Click its actions button, such as 104/124 actions. Its tooltip reads Configure actions for this account.
- Use the All, Read only, Write and Destructive tabs, or Search actions…, to switch actions on or off.
- Click Save actions.
A new Read & write advertiser starts at 104/124: every action except the 20 destructive ones, which stay off until an admin switches them on. A Read-only advertiser starts at 15/124, and its writes stay locked until an admin reconnects it with Read & write. The server refuses any action that is switched off, in every client.

Step 5 (optional): ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI and Codex CLI
The same URL works in every client that supports remote MCP servers, and each one finishes with the same InsightfulPipe sign-in.
ChatGPT. Turn on Developer mode under Settings > Security and login. Go to ChatGPT Plugins, select the plus button, create an app with the URL and sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked. In each new chat, choose Developer mode from the Plus menu. OpenAI offers this on Pro, Plus, Business, Enterprise and Education accounts on the web, and write actions ask for confirmation by default (OpenAI, checked 2026-09-30).
Cursor. Use the Cursor tab of the TikTok Ads setup guide, or add the line below to ~/.cursor/mcp.json. When the server shows Needs authentication, click Connect, then Open, and sign in to InsightfulPipe if asked.
{ "mcpServers": { "tiktok-ads-mcp": { "url": "https://tiktok-ads.insightfulmcp.com/" } } }The terminals. One command each:
claude mcp add --transport http tiktok-ads-mcp https://tiktok-ads.insightfulmcp.com/
gemini mcp add --transport http tiktok-ads-mcp https://tiktok-ads.insightfulmcp.com/
codex mcp add tiktok-ads-mcp --url https://tiktok-ads.insightfulmcp.com/In Claude Code, type /mcp, select tiktok-ads-mcp and choose Authenticate. The server loads only in the current project unless you add --scope user (Claude Code docs, checked 2026-09-30). In Gemini CLI, type /mcp auth tiktok-ads-mcp. Codex CLI opens the browser on its own.
Verify it worked
Three checks, shortest first, confirm that the connection works without changing anything in TikTok Ads.
1. The connection is live. In a new Claude chat, open + then Connectors and find the connector switched on. In Claude Code, claude mcp list should show tiktok-ads-mcp as Connected, not Needs authentication.
2. Run a prompt that cannot do harm. Paste this as written. Its last line tells Claude to leave everything alone.
List the TikTok advertiser accounts available to this connection.
Return the advertiser name, advertiser ID, currency, and status.
Do not run a report and do not change anything.3. Run a real read. Ask for last week's spend by campaign and compare one number with TikTok Ads Manager for the same dates. A mismatch usually means a different date range, time zone or advertiser.
If check 1 shows no connector, or check 2 returns an error, go to Troubleshooting.
Prompts to run first
Start with reads, and name the advertiser in the first line, because each request works on one advertiser at a time.
Prompt | What Claude runs |
|---|---|
"What was cost per conversion by campaign over the last 30 days?" |
|
"Which ad groups had the lowest video completion rate this week?" |
|
"Show GMV Max performance for our TikTok Shop last month." |
|
"Suggest a bid for this ad group's audience." |
|
"Create a campaign for our autumn sale with a 500 daily budget." |
|
A table cell is hard to copy cleanly, so here is the first report to paste as it is.
Use TikTok advertiser [ADVERTISER_ID].
Compare the last 30 complete days with the previous 30 complete days, by campaign.
Include spend, impressions, clicks, conversions, cost per conversion and video views at 100%.
The prompt library and the TikTok Ads Claude skills are free to use. The weekly performance summary and advertiser account health check prompts make good second runs.
What Claude may change in TikTok Ads, and who decides
On a Read & write advertiser, Claude can change what an admin leaves switched on and nothing else. InsightfulPipe carries 124 TikTok Ads actions: 15 read, 89 write and 20 destructive.
Every limit is a switch. An owner, admin or operator switches each action on or off per advertiser, across read, write and destructive, at any time. The server enforces that list in every client, which is what makes InsightfulPipe the safest way to let an AI agent change TikTok Ads.
Created disabled, for you to set live. Every campaign and ad group Claude creates starts disabled, including Smart+ and GMV Max, because the server sets that status itself. New ads start disabled too, unless the request sets ENABLE on a regular ad itself.
What sets things live. Six status updates start delivery: campaign_status_update, adgroup_status_update, ad_status_update and their Smart+ versions. They also accept DELETE. They start on for a Read & write advertiser, and an admin switches them off, with ad_create and smart_plus_ad_material_status_update, wherever Claude should not set anything live.
Destructive actions start off. Twenty actions are destructive, such as deleting catalogs, audiences, pixel events, comments and creative assets, removing Business Center members and partners, and cancelling an audience share. Each stays off until an owner, admin or operator switches it on for that advertiser.
Business Center actions are ordinary writes. bc_transfer moves funds between a Business Center and its advertisers, and bc_member_invite invites people. They start on for a Read & write advertiser, and an admin switches them off wherever Claude should not move money or add people.
Budgets go to TikTok as you state them. Name the amount and the currency in the prompt, keep execute_action on Needs approval in Claude, and switch off the campaign and ad group update actions wherever budgets must not move.
Read-only means read-only. A Read-only advertiser accepts no write until an admin reconnects it with Read & write. Members with the User role run only switched-on read actions, on the advertisers an owner or admin grants them.
Troubleshooting
Most failures come from a missing advertiser, a switched-off action or an expired sign-in, and each shows its own message.
- The connector does not appear in the chat. Turn it on from + then Connectors in each new chat, or pick Developer mode each time in ChatGPT.
- Claude can't finish connecting. No TikTok Ads advertiser is available to your login. Finish step 1, or ask an owner or admin to grant you the advertiser, then click Connect again.
- "No TikTok advertiser accounts were returned for the authorized user." Sign in with the TikTok for Business login that can open the advertiser, or ask your Business Center admin to add you.
- "This action is disabled for this connected account. An owner or admin must enable it for the account." An owner, admin or operator can switch it on under Configure actions for this account.
- "This account is connected read-only, so this action cannot be enabled for it. An owner or admin must reconnect it with Read & Write permissions." An admin reconnects the advertiser with Read & write.
- "Your role does not have permission to execute write actions. Only operators, admins, and owners can execute write operations." An owner or admin can change your role.
- "Authentication failed. The provided bearer token is invalid, expired, or no longer recognized by the server." Clear the connector's saved sign-in in your client and connect again.
- The report is empty. Widen the date range, remove filters and confirm the advertiser had delivery. An empty report is not always a sign-in problem.
- A report asks for too much. TikTok allows at most four dimensions per integrated report request. Ask for fewer breakdowns, or run two reports.
Other ways to connect TikTok Ads to Claude
Besides InsightfulPipe, AI answers most often name TikTok's own connector and reporting connectors such as Supermetrics, Porter Metrics and Adzviser. We read every capability, default and price from each vendor's own documentation, pricing page or public repository, and ran InsightfulPipe on live accounts.
TikTok for Business. The Claude listing shows TikTok's connector as Anthropic verified, made by TikTok, added in August 2026, with 39 tools. TikTok's help article says its full server loads about 400 tools and needs no developer credential or custom coding. Neither page states per-advertiser controls, a read-only mode, defaults for new campaigns or a price.
Route | Changes TikTok Ads? | What its own page says |
|---|---|---|
InsightfulPipe | Yes | 124 actions, each switched per advertiser; destructive ones start off |
TikTok for Business | Yes | Campaign creation, targeting, bidding and reporting |
Supermetrics | Yes | Create, pause and optimize campaigns; new ones created paused |
PaidSync | Existing campaigns | 13 tools: pause, enable, budgets, bids and names |
Windsor.ai | Status and budgets | Pause or enable campaigns, ad groups and ads; set budgets |
Composio | Yes | Create campaigns and pause ad groups |
AdsAgent | Status, budgets and bids | Prepares each change for an operator to confirm |
Porter Metrics | No | Six read-only methods |
Adzviser | No | A read-only reporting connector |
Two Minute Reports | No | It "cannot create, edit, pause, or delete anything" |
On its TikTok page, Supermetrics calls itself "the only Claude integration with write access", yet seven routes in this table can change TikTok Ads. Blend publishes no TikTok tool list, and Coupler.io, Pipeboard and Markifact appeared in 8 or fewer of the 55 AI answers we tracked, so the table leaves them out.
TikTok's connector covers TikTok alone, and its pages state no per-advertiser control. InsightfulPipe puts TikTok beside Google Ads, Meta Ads and GA4, with every action a switch per advertiser.
