Is this the official TikTok Ads MCP server?

No. TikTok offers its own TikTok for Business MCP Server. InsightfulPipe is an independent, hosted MCP server that connects to the TikTok API for Business. InsightfulPipe is not affiliated with TikTok.

How is it different from the TikTok for Business MCP Server?

TikTok's server exposes around 400 TikTok API for Business tools and connects only TikTok Ads. InsightfulPipe offers a smaller set of TikTok actions together with Google Ads, Meta Ads, GA4 and 46 other MCP servers under one sign-in, plus per-account action controls, Read-only connections and team access.

Which AI assistants does it work with?

Any AI client that supports remote MCP servers. The setup guide on this page covers Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI and Codex. You can also work with the same connected advertisers from the terminal with the InsightfulPipe CLI.

Is there a Claude connector for TikTok Ads?

Yes. In Claude, add https://tiktok-ads.insightfulmcp.com/ as a custom connector and authorize your InsightfulPipe account. You can also add InsightfulPipe from the Claude Directory, which connects all of your linked accounts at once.

Can I use the TikTok Ads MCP server with ChatGPT?

Yes. Add the server URL as a custom connector in ChatGPT Developer mode, or add InsightfulPipe from the ChatGPT app directory to connect all of your linked accounts. Developer mode availability depends on your ChatGPT plan.

What TikTok Ads data can my AI access?

Campaign, ad group and ad settings, advertiser account details, and the integrated report at advertiser, campaign, ad group and ad level with metrics such as spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and video views, plus age and gender breakdowns. GMV Max campaigns, sessions, linked TikTok Shops and the GMV Max report are available too, along with bid recommendations and targeting search.

Which ad types does reporting cover?

It covers auction ads, including In-Feed and Spark Ads, plus GMV Max campaigns for TikTok Shop through TikTok's dedicated GMV Max report. Reservation buys such as TopView and Branded Effects are not included.

Can I manage multiple TikTok advertisers?

Yes. When you sign in with TikTok for Business, InsightfulPipe lists the advertisers you can access and you choose which ones to connect. Each connected advertiser counts as one connection on your plan, and team members with restricted access only get read actions on the advertisers granted to them.

How does authentication work?

You connect TikTok Ads to InsightfulPipe with TikTok for Business OAuth and choose Read-only or Read & Write access. Your AI client then signs in to the MCP server with your InsightfulPipe account and receives an InsightfulPipe access token, not your TikTok login. You can disconnect an advertiser in InsightfulPipe at any time.

What can't the TikTok Ads MCP server do?

It does not report on reservation buys such as TopView, and it cannot see data your TikTok user has no permission for. Some catalog, audience and Business Center actions also need the matching permissions on your TikTok account. Campaign changes follow TikTok API for Business rules, so anything the API does not support is not available here either.

Once connected, you can ask Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor about campaign performance and ask it to make changes, instead of clicking through TikTok Ads Manager.

Yes, on advertisers connected with Read & Write access. It can create and update campaigns, ad groups and ads, including Smart+ and GMV Max campaigns, upload images and videos, manage custom, lookalike and saved audiences, pixels, offline event sets, catalogs, automated rules, ad comments and Business Center members and assets. New campaigns, ad groups, Smart+ and GMV Max campaigns are created disabled.

You control the risk. You can connect advertisers as Read-only, and on Read & Write advertisers owners, admins and operators choose exactly which actions each advertiser exposes, across read, write and destructive, and your AI is given exactly that set; anything outside it is blocked. Delete actions, such as deleting audiences, catalogs or comments, stay off by default. The status update actions can enable or delete campaigns, ad groups and ads, and Business Center actions include fund transfers and member invites; these are regular write actions, so turn them off for any advertiser where agents should not use them.
