No. Meta's official MCP server is for ads: it manages campaigns and ad reporting, not organic Instagram posts or insights. InsightfulPipe is an independent, hosted MCP server built on Meta's Instagram API, and is not affiliated with Meta or Instagram.

Yes. In Claude, add https://instagram.insightfulmcp.com/ as a custom connector and authorize your InsightfulPipe account. You can also add InsightfulPipe from the Claude Directory, which connects all of your linked accounts at once.

Yes. Add the server URL as a custom connector in ChatGPT Developer mode, or add InsightfulPipe from the ChatGPT app directory to connect all of your linked accounts. Developer mode availability depends on your ChatGPT plan.

Your profile, posts and Reels, Stories while they are live, comments and replies, post and Reel insights (reach, views, saves, shares, total interactions, follows, profile visits and Reel watch time), account totals for a period (views, accounts engaged, total interactions, likes, comments, shares, saves, follows and unfollows) and follower demographics by city and country.

Yes, on accounts connected with Read & Write access. It can publish single-image posts, carousels of 2 to 10 images or videos, Reels and Stories from media URLs, and it can comment, reply to comments, hide comments and turn comments on or off. Posts publish immediately. Drafts and scheduling are not available over MCP.

You control the risk. You can connect accounts as Read-only, and on Read & Write accounts you choose exactly which actions your AI can use. Deleting comments stays off until an owner, admin or operator enables it. Because posts go live immediately, turn off the publishing actions for any account where agents should not post. Restricted members only get read actions on the accounts they are granted.

Yes. The account must be an Instagram professional account, either business or creator, linked to a Facebook Page. You connect it by signing in with Facebook and choosing the account from your Pages.

Yes. Choose several accounts when you connect, or add more later. Each account counts as one connection on your plan.

You connect Instagram to InsightfulPipe with Facebook Login. Read-only connections request basic account and insights access; Read & Write connections add comment management and content publishing. Your AI client then signs in to the MCP server with your InsightfulPipe account and receives an InsightfulPipe access token, not your Facebook or Instagram login.

There is no hashtag search, no data on when followers are online, and no direct messages. Stories and their metrics are only available while the Story is live. Instagram has retired impressions and plays, so use views instead, and IGTV no longer exists as a separate format. Single-image feed posts must be JPEG. There is no scheduling and no ads data.
